Payment
As far as Lauritzen Fonden is concerned, it is the individual company that rents allocated holiday chalets, which means that companies must themselves arrange to collect the rent from staff and then settle with the Lauritzen Fonden at year-end.
Tax
We draw your attention to the 1994 taxation regulations on fringe benefits, including holiday chalets:
In weeks 22-34, holiday chalets attract a weekly tax charge equivalent to 0.5% of the official property valuation of the property concerned, falling to 0.25% for the rest of the year. The Tax Dept only needs to be notified if the rental actually paid is less than the taxable value band. The company that pays the employee is responsible for notifying the difference to the Tax Dept (in section 51 of the tax return).
The valuations below mean a tax charge is payable. This also means that individual staff who rent a chalet will be liable for a tax charge on the difference between the rent they pay and the taxable value.
Property valuation 2009 (latest):
Egernhuset DKK 2,100,000
ÆseIhytten DKK 2,250,000
Markhytten DKK 1,700,000
Letting periods
Lauritzen Fonden leaves it up to the companies to opt for one or two week periods so as to fit in with staff vacation plans. Lettings are from Saturday 14.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs the following Saturday.
Who can rent?
All Lauritzen Group employees and pensioneers from there can rent holiday chalets and that includes for the time being employees of companies sold by the Group (5 years). One condition is that employees must themselves spend their holidays in the chalet for the period they have rented it.
