In September 2004, the essay subject was: Intangible values in tomorrow's Denmark. The excellent entries analysed the recent history of Danish culture and social life as the basis for reactions to the problems posed by the title of the paper. The winning authors were innovative and courageous in their suggestions for the political consequences of the reviews of values that they undertook.

Is imbalance threatening the Danish community?

September 2001’s essay theme was: The balance of power between stakeholder organisations and representative democracy – has an imbalance arisen that is threatening the community? The winning entries were all of a very high standard, going into depth about how the Danish democracy can enjoy on-going renewal that stretches much further than the many "instant" political fixes.

Can our national cultural heritage survive?

In September 1998, the essay title was: How can out national cultural heritage survive in the long term? The nature and ways of intangible values from generation to generation. The excellent prize-winning entries debated the significance in the explosive growth of IT and the challenges both political and cultural internationalisation has on a traditionally limited national culture.

Does the welfare state have a future?
This essay theme was about the future of the welfare state. The entries analysed reasons why Denmark wants to see the welfare state expanded but how the financial burden is growing uncontrollably. Our anthology includes edited versions of the winning essays that are easily accessible for anyone with an interest in the subject.
