Klithuset is available for lettings for:

  • Training courses and conferences for Lauritzen Group companies.
  • Staff parties and events. Klithuset is so popular that it is booked several years ahead. In order for as many Lauritzen Group employees as possible to benefit, it is only let to our own employees and only for their own events and for parents events.
  • Organisations / institutions / club events in line with the Foundation's charter.

The Centre sleeps 39 plus another 7 in the annex (JL Huset). Tropehuset offers eight new double rooms with bath. The rooms are renovated in the same beautiful standard as Klithuset. See floor plan

Please note that renting Tropehuset and JL-Huset can only occur in conjunction with renting Klithuset

Occupying a beach front site right beside the Kattegat, Klithuset has a fantastic view of Kullen and is just 500 m from the village of Dronningmølle with its railway station (Hornbæk Line) and bus (306 Hillerød - Hornbæk stations) and grocer. Klithuset backs onto a small wood with a lovely playground, outdoor fireplace.  There are facilities for up to 60 people for events.

Klithuset is a former seaside hotel. Following major rebuilding works in 2007 it is now a functional, modern, pleasant, Swedish country style place without being over luxurious. There is a conference room on the ground floor which can be sub-divided into two, and a comfortable library. The kitchen in the basement has a small dishwasher, fridge, freezer and service lift for food to the kitchenettes serving the Conference room and the Look-Out room. On the ground floor there are 5 rooms with beds for a total of 12. On the first floor, there are 10 rooms sleeping 27, including folding beds. See floor plan. All rooms have their own en suite bathroom. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor. The Annex (JL Huset) sleeps 5 in 3 small rooms and 2 can sleep on a bed-settee. There is a shared bathroom and kitchenette. See floor plan. 

Tropehuset        Klithuset front

There are cutlery, plates, glasses, cups, dishes, thermos jugs and kitchen equipment for 60 people There are 11 round tables (120 cm dia.) 11 tables (160 x 80 cm) in the Conference room. There are duvets and pillows in the rooms but you need to bring your own bed linen and towels. Download list here.

Visitors to Klithuset do their own cooking, dishwashing and cleaning, except for visitors attending conferences, training courses and meetings. The housekeeper deals with the final clean and the cost is included in the price (see below for prices)

The rates below are effective from January 1, 2011. Before that date, the rates given in the contract (when signed by the owner and the person hiring Klithuset and returned to Marianne Tholstrup) will apply. All tenants must pay an amount of 1.000 kr. on account. The amount will not be refunded in case of cancellation.

RATES FOR GROUPS FROM LAURITZEN STAFF (GROUP 1):

This means that current staff, pensioners, Lauritzen family members, former employees (see below for details) can hire Klithuset for meetings or private social events.

       

The house is hired out for employees’ own events, normally a husband/wife/partner/own parents/child’s red letter day. Individuals can only hire the house once in a three year period. If available, Klithuset can be hired on a last minute basis up to four months in advance of an event without this counting towards the one events in three years rule. You can be exempted if the hire is on weekdays only. These guidelines have been introduced to let as many employees as possible enjoy the house. In the event of people abusing the system or failing to observe the rules, we reserve the right to refuse bookings.

RATES FOR GROUPS WITH GRANTS (GROUP 2):

Organisations specially supported by the Lauritzen Group, such as shipping, musical and sports groups, humanitarian organisations and Lauritzen prize-winners (for up to five years after the award).

       

The contact person responsible for the booking must participate.

Booking: A maximum of 12 months before the due date. See below for catering.

RATES FOR LAURITZEN GROUP COURSES, CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS (GROUP 3):

Group 3 rates include all Lauritzen Group corporate training courses, conferences and meetings even though the arranger and/or participants are employees of the Lauritzen Group.

        

Participation by the contact person is not required.

Booking: A maximum of 2 years before the due date.

AV equipment: Ceiling-mounted projector, screen, whiteboard, TV with DVD, music centre and copier available.

CATERING

One of the advantages of Klithuset Is that our visitors can opt for the full or small catering service according to their needs and temperament.

For courses, conferences and meetings, our visitors must buy in all their catering externally. If hiring Klithuset for private events, you can use a private catering solution or use one of the recommended suppliers noted below.

All agreements should be made directly with the housekeeper in good time before your event. We would ask you to remember that we are not running a public hotel and conference business and neither do we have the staff of an hotel. So it is important to discuss things with the housekeeper who can give guidance on catering and course packages according to your requirements.

At Klithuset we do not provide lunches and dinners ourselves but we can offer proven concepts in different price ranges with suppliers and services that we know. They offer everything from ordinary day-to-day meals, sandwiches, working lunches and dinners to elegant, refined party food. All our suppliers can provide a team of professional staff if you wish. Arrangements can be made to have a full table setting service (table cloths, candles, napkins and flowers).

"I am a former restaurateur and was the caretaker at the Klithuset centre for ten years. I have extensive experience in courses and private events and have looked afterr many of Klithuset''s ''regulars'. My basic philosophy is that the atmosphere must be the best possible and nothing is too good for guests. I have good suppliers and use the best ingredients with the emphasis on organic ffod, innovation and hygiene. I have good waiting personnel who share my approach. Prices and wishes agreed individually." 
 

General terms for hiring Klithuset:
The full amount due is to be paid at least four months before the event date. Our hirers must be prepared to be billed for any extra cleaning required and any breakages.

Cancellation rules:

75% of the agreed hire fee is payable on cancellation less than 4 months before the schedule event date. Cancellation fees are not payable if the house can be let to another party.

Former employees:
We only hire out to employees even if they have resigned at the time of the event if:

  • They have at least three years of service, they have left the company due to redundancy, sale or closure and they've arranged the hire while they were still employed and the event date is less than two years of leaving the company

    or
     
  • Employees have given notice themselves and the event date is within nine months of leaving the company.

Note that a booking arranged before resignation will be cancelled if the above condition is not met at the scheduled event date.
